If you read this thread, you'll also see that some insist you need a powered USB hub since the new Macs don't give as much juice through the USB as other machines. Tascam claimed they were going to release a 64-bit driver by the end of January, but I'm not holding my breath. I can use mine, but I'm certain I can do better with another interface (I just can't afford to replace it right now). for a mic plugged in, is waaaay too low.Īt this point the Tascam does not seem to be a good match for the Mac.

Have tried using a Belkin powered USB hub, still no response, Have tried with the seemingly updated driver on the Tascam website, and with the driver that came on the CD-rom with the device, and all possible combinations of driver/hub, everytime removing all tascam documentation and applications from the machine before re-installing. When I connect the USB the lights flash on momentarily, but then all go out, as other people have reported with the 'l' version, but the phantom power light still comes on, so there is power. I have one of the new Tascam US-122mkII interfaces, and I cannot get any response out of it.
